MICHAEL ARPINO

Michael Arpino is a procurement professional that has extensive experience with leading strategic initiatives in supplier price and contract negotiations. in the areas of marketing, advertising, print, market research, public relations and more.  He has also held top positions at American Express, Conde Nast Publications, Time, Inc. and Not-for-Profit organizations.

He has managed contract compliance and rate negotiations for over a billion dollars in spend and is a subject matter expert on procurement and financial systems. He is often called upon as a project lead on new and innovative system implementations and modifications to processes in procurement.  He has special expertise  with Ariba and the entire procure-to-pay process.

As Director of Manufacturing and Distribution he was responsible for developing and managing  budgets.  He was also responsible for evaluating  print suppliers, negotiating manufacturing  prices, schedules, identifying  manufacturing opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.  Responsibilites consisted of everything from Pre-Press through Distribution.  Responsible for converting all titles to digital.

As Director of Print Purchasing he negotiated all major print contracts for all titles.  He managed an annual print budget over $330 million dollars.  Michael instituted  a formal RFP process and created detailed analysis for bid proposals.  He benchmarked all titles and prepared forecast assumptions used company wide.
